Esmeralda Arosemena

She is currently President of the Inter-American Commission on Human Rights. She was chosen Commissioned on June 16, 2015 by the General Assembly of the OAS, for a period of four years that began on January 1, 2016 and ends on December 31, 2019. He held positions in the Judiciary of Panama: she was magistrate of the Supreme Court of Justice, of which She was Vice President; She was also President of the Second Criminal Chamber, and a judge of the Court Superior of Childhood and Adolescence. Participated in the Special Commission for the proposal of constitutional reforms in Panama 2011, and in the Commission for the elaboration of the Code Constitutional Procedural 2016. It is licensed in Philosophy, Letters and Education, with specialization in Pedagogy, as well as a degree in Law and Political Science. He studied postgraduate in Gender, specialization in family and childhood, and in constitutional matters. It is academic and teacher at the University of Panama, the Superior Institute of the Judiciary and the Judicial Organ from Panama. She is a facilitator in the Public Ministry School for the New Criminal System accusatory and in training for the subject of juvenile criminal justice. She is a consultant and adviser in issues of childhood, childhood and adolescence, women and family for international organizations.
Advise in the preparation, debates and approval of important laws in these matters, such as Adviser ad honorem, in the Legislative Body of Panama.
