Glynne Mackey

Glynne Mackey is a Senior Lecturer at the University of Canterbury. She takes leadership roles in the early childhood teaching programs at the University and has just completed 7 years as coordinator of the Bachelor of Teaching and Learning. Glynne’s main research explores ways in which young children participate in environmental actions within their communities and how teachers can support them as agents of change for a more sustainable future.

Glynne is an active member of OMEP, the World Organization of Early Childhood. She is involved in the OMEP global organization’s committee on education for sustainability. The Global OMEP has been active in promoting sustainability in all member countries. She has been on the OMEP National Committee in Aotearoa New Zealand for several years, most recently as secretary.
