Glynne Mackey

Glynne Mackey is a Senior Lecturer at the University of Canterbury. She takes leadership roles in the early childhood teaching programmes at the University and has just complete 7 years as coordinator of the Bachelor of Teaching and Learning. Glynne’s main research explores ways in which young children participate in environmental action within their communities and how teachers can support them as agents of change for a more sustainable future.
Glynne is an active member of OMEP, World Organisation of Early Childhood. She is involved in the World OMEP organisation’s committee on education for sustainability. World OMEP has been active in promoting sustainability in all member countries. She has been on the National Committee of OMEP Aotearoa New Zealand for several years, more recently as secretary.
